UC Santa Barbara a leader in Scholarship Fundraising
Will it snow at Campus Point? That is up to students and alumni who can contribute to the Promise for California campaign to raise funds for UCSB scholarships. The alumni and Annual Fund student intern staffs have promised to rent a snowmaking machine and make it snow on campus if donors contribute $2014 to scholarships. The campaign ended Oct. 31.

Marching Into History
The U.S. Army announced in early October that it planned to end the ROTC program at UC Santa Barbara. While it would allow juniors and seniors in the program this year to complete their officer training, the army said that first and second year students would have to transfer to another college to complete their training.

Some Rankings Are Not Rank
While most prestigious research universities disdain rankings like those found in popular magazines, there are a few rankings that are points of pride.
