Spending all your money on cheeseburgers, video games, or another pair of jeans might sound like a good idea today, but tomorrow? Not so much!
Start on the path to a financially successful life! Attend "Tips for Financial Success" and learn how to manage your money, pay for college and build wealth. You will receive top-notch information from a panel of career professionals working in various fields of the Finance Industry, including a Financial Aid representative. You will also be given the chance to ask questions during a Q&A session.

Brent Anderson graduated UCSB in 1970 with a BA in Environmental Biology...and went immediately into the insurance business and has just celebrated 40 years in the industry!  Today, his Santa Barbara-based business specializes in Employee Benefits and personal Financial and Life Insurance Planning for business owners and executives.  He's qualified for many industry honors, he's a past president of local insurance associations and also past president of the SB Estate Planning Council.  He's a frequent speaker to the insurance industry, both locally and internationally, and enjoys being a mentor to new agents.
Rob Jupille, President of RTJ Financial Management, has been assisting individuals and small businesses with their insurance and financial planning needs for the past 19 years. Mr. Jupille started his career as an insurance underwriter with a Fortune 500 company, and was quickly promoted to management, becoming Vice President of Sales and Underwriting. He evolved into advising individuals as a Regional Director of Sales for Foresters, a not-for-profit financial services organization. After 12 years working for others, Mr. Jupille formed RTJ Financial Management in 2003, focused on helping successful individuals achieve their financial dreams. Mr. Jupille graduated in 1989 from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Economics. When not assisting clients, Mr. Jupille volunteers his time as Past President of the UCSB Alumni Association Board of Directors, is on the Board of Directors of the Center for Lifelong Learners, and has co-chaired the West Los Angeles Heart Walk for the American Heart Association. He and his wife, Tracie, live in West Los Angeles.
Michael Miller is the Director of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. He came to work at UCSB after graduating from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. Michael started working in financial aid as a freshman in college and aside from a four year hiatus to serve in the United States Army; his entire professional career has been in higher education and financial aid. While working at UCSB he completed his MBA and remains dedicated to educating UCSB students about the importance of making sound financial decisions while in college. He is currently conducting research on the role of multimedia in student services, more specifically, financial aid. In 2010, he was named Director of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Dr. Mary Nisbet is Dean of Undergraduate Education in the College of Letters and Science. After majoring in mathematics at St. Andrews University in Scotland, she became a chartered accountant in the United Kingdom, and then worked in the accounting profession for several years. She completed her doctorate in Finance at the University of Glasgow and was a professor in the Glasgow University Business School until coming to the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1991. During her time in Glasgow, Dr. Nisbet also worked for two years as a faculty member in the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. At UC Santa Barbara, Dr. Nisbet is a faculty member in the Economics Department and was Director of the Accounting Program for eight years. She was appointed in 2002 as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education in the College of Letters and Science and became Dean of Undergraduate Education in 2010.
