Associated Students Food Bank
The Associated Student Bank is a student-run and student-led service at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Their primary focus is to ensuring friendly, confidential services to UCSB students in need of food and toiletries. As a comprehensive and holistic service, they also provide resource referrals to students, educational and skill based workshops, and other tools and resources.
The Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) office at UCSB provides confidential advocacy and support to students, staff and faculty impacted by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence and stalking. The Senior Class of 2017 gift would support the Sexual Assault Survivor Fund, administered by CARE, which assists UCSB student survivors by providing modest financial support to cover unexpected, short-term, emergency expenses (immediate safety, health, or medical needs, and certain court filing fees for things like restraining orders).
Disabled Students Program
The Disabled Students Program (DSP) provides access for UCSB students with disabilities (permanent and temporary) throughout their college career. This access comes in the form of academic services including registration assistance, note taking, exam accommodations, adaptive technology solutions, and reading services. Examples of reading services include obtaining textbooks and readers in an accessible format, and using a computer program to hear text out loud. The 2017 Senior Class Gift would support the increasing demands of these services.
